What you should know

• this is an optional benefit
• there is a small additional premium payable for this benefit
• a maximum of one partner, five children and four parents may be covered, for an additional premium per person
• children are covered from 29 weeks after conception up to the date of their 21st birthday, or their 25th birthday if they are full-time students
• parents can be added to the policy at any time up until age 75
• in the case of death by natural causes, the policy must have been in force for a minimum of 12 months, and for death as a result of a pre-existing condition or suicide, for 24 months
• you can choose the amount of the funeral cover in multiples of R1,000, from a minimum of R2,000 to a maximum of R20,000, with reference to the following table:

• this benefit does not acquire any surrender value or paid-up value

How to claim

Contact us on 0800 252 467 to obtain a claim form; our consultants will advise you on any additional documents that are required. The completed claim form must be submitted within 180 days of the death of the insured person.
