Accidental Disability benefit?
If you opt to add the Accidental Disability benefit to your
standard Fenomenal Woman policy, you will receive a cash payout
should you become disabled as a result of an accident.
Please note: The purchase of Fenomenal Woman life cover is a prerequisite for this benefit.
Why you should consider this optional benefit
People seldom consider the impact that an accident could have on their quality of life and ability to earn an income. Quite simply, these are not things we like to dwell on. But dealing with the physical challenges presented by the loss of a limb or loss of vision or hearing is difficult enough without having to contend with an added financial burden as well. The cost of treatment, specially adapted vehicles and equipment, and care-givers can add up quickly, and as a Fenomenal Woman this is not a burden you will want to pass on to your partner or family.

you must have been insured for a minimum of 6 months before the date of the disabling incident

an accident is defined as an uncertain future event, caused solely and directly by violent, accidental, external, physical and visible means independent of any cause

certain types of accident are excluded from cover, including injury due to attempted suicide, engaging in military or security activities, or driving under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed or illegal drugs

this benefit is available to the main life and partner only

you can set your total Disability Sum Assured at any amount from R50,000, up to a maximum of R200,000, in multiples of R5,000

the payout will be calculated as a percentage of the total Disability Sum Assured, depending on the type of disability sustained, as per the following table:

you may make more than one Accidental Disability claim while you remain covered, but the maximum amount payable during the entire life of the policy will be limited to the total Disability Sum Assured set by you

the Accidental Disability benefit will cease on the insured person’s 75th birthday

this benefit does not acquire any surrender value or paid-up value
How to claim
Contact us on 0800 252 467 to obtain a claim form; our consultants will advise you on any additional documents that are required. Your completed claim form must be submitted within 180 days of the accident that resulted in the disability.
